But one of the best ways to be full of energy and be able to hit the ground running and be the best in business that you possibly can, is to have good, effective sleep. Over the last couple of years, I've read a couple of brilliant books on sleep. One is ‘Why We Sleep’ by Matthew Walker, and the other one is ‘Sleep: The Eight-hour Myth’ by Nick Littlehales; both are really brilliant books and packed full of tips. Both Walker and Littlehales advise a lot of people in the sporting world; for example, Littlehales coached the Tour de France team, Team Sky the Tour de France on sleep, whereas Walker advised players at Manchester United and Real Madrid.
One of the best ways to increase your energy is through sufficient sleep.
One of the things I loved about both writers was the way they emphasised the importance of sleep. Pretty much every creature on the planet takes some form of sleep, so if sleep isn't really important to us then it's got to be mother nature's biggest ever mistake! One of the things the authors looked at was why is it important we get sleep and what's the impact is of doing so.
In the following video you’ll be able to hear my full talk on this topic and hopefully learn some useful tips for getting better sleep, and develop an understanding of why it is so crucial to your overall health and wellbeing.
